High school kids may not need us to tie their shoes or kiss their boo-boos anymore but they still need us to support them in meaningful ways. Although their eye rolls, requests that we walk 10 paces behind them, and admonishments if we address them in public may seem like a statement for independence there is a significant way for you to stay involved in their school and their education. Joining your local PTSA is an important step in establishing parental involvement between the home and school, which research shows, is strongly linked to positive educational outcomes for students. Thank you to over 1400 PTSA members from both Skyline and PCFC who have joined so far. There is still plenty of time to join and receive a school directory. Please visit Forms for a Membership Form. Members are welcome to but are in no way obligated to attend meetings or volunteer. Your membership simply means that you support the work of the organization at Skyline.
The PTSA is working closely with the Skyline registrar to expedite the production of this year’s edition of the Skyline student directory. Here’s what you can do to help–if there have been any changes to your basic information, such as an address or phone number change, since the spring, please check your Issaquah School District Family Access information online. You can find the link at, Skyline High School, “Family Access.” Please be aware that the student directory is a product of the District database not the PTSA membership database; the information that you have given the district for Family Access is the information that will be included in the student directory. If any corrections need to be made please email the school registrar at Stacey Slyke as soon as possible to ensure that the corrections can be made before the directory goes to press.
