WANT TO DO SOMETHING FOR EDUCATION?

Want the sixth period high school day paid for? Want higher graduation requirements? Want higher teacher pay with accountability? The WA State PTA, League of Education Voters (LEV) and Stand for Children are gathering signatures for an online petition entitled "World-Class Education in Washington State: Our Kids Can't Wait". Please sign the petition and pass it around to those in your sport clubs, book clubs, anyone and everyone. As of this writing we’re at just under 3,100 signatures. We need at least 10,000 to get the attention of legislators. Here is the link - http://gopetition.com/online/25946.html. Take 2 minutes for kids!  And forward this link to all of your friends!

PARENTS WHO HOST LOSE THE MOST

This parent seminar, which has already toured the other two high schools, has been rescheduled once again at Issaquah High. It’s Wednesday, April 22nd at 7pm, room E-8. Hopefully no snow this time!

WHAT’S IT LIKE TO BE A JUNIOR? A SENIOR?

Parents and students, find out! PTSA is hosting two evenings next week to help prepare families for next year. Monday the 30th at 7pm is “What It’s Like to Be a Junior,” for this year’s sophomores and their parents. The following evening, the 31st, is “What It’s Like to Be a Senior,” for this year’s Juniors. Come hear parents and students talk about what to expect and answer your questions.

Ø     While you’re there, pick up something from the Junior Class Council Auction. The classes at SHS have to raise money for various activities, including prom. This year, the Junior Class Council is hosting an auction to fundraise for next year. This auction will be held at both of the “What It’s Like To Be A…Junior/Senior” evenings on Monday and Tuesday next week (30th and 31st). They’ll have a wide range of items to bid on and the winners will be announced at the end of each of the events. Participation in the auction would be greatly appreciated by all those in the Class of 2010.

Ø     Before you go, grab a quick bite at Pogacha and help the Sophomore Class. Also on Monday, the 30th only, the Sophomore Class is having a fundraiser at Pogacha off of Gilman in Issaquah. Twenty five per cent of the evening’s food and beverage revenues, including take out orders, will go to help our Class of 2011. Check out this flyer for more details.

PARENTS OF SENIORS – HAVE YOU REGISTERED YOUR STUDENT FOR UPCOMING SR. EVENTS?

Check the SHS website for information and registration forms.

ART EAST IS SEEKING SUBMISSIONS
