PTSA News
“Big” Check
– As part of the September 18 football game half time show the PTSA presented a
“big” (as in size) check. The “big” (as in amount) check for $10,000 is a
school-wide, curriculum support grant to create more opportunities for
students in achieving their fine arts graduation requirement.
College Readiness
– Skyline PTSA continues to offer opportunities for students to prepare for the
SAT and ACT tests. Forms can be found on our website and questions can be
answered by Molly Bellehumeur. The fall mock ACT test is being
given at Skyline on October 3rd and the registration deadline is
September 26th.
Thank you volunteers!!
– Thank you to the parents who dropped off cookies and brownies for the
Curriculum Night BBQ on Tuesday, September 22. We always look
forward to opportunities that we can partner with the ASB (Associated Student
Body) to provide a program or service to the greater Skyline community.
Reflections
– This national PTA arts competition will be kicking off soon.
This year’s theme is “Beauty is…” Get those creative juices flowing and start
thinking about ideas. More detailed information will be available shortly. For

Volunteer Opportunities
– Interested in lending a hand at the school, but haven’t had a chance to let us
know? There are many possible volunteering jobs, including Staff
Appreciation, Spartan Grants, and Spartan Helping Hands to name but a few. You
can send in our Volunteer Form or send an email to Dolores D'Alo or Kathy
Rizkalla, Spartan Volunteers co-chairs.
Sparty’s List
– We’ve started our own Craig’s List, but call it "Sparty's List". As small
supply items or equipment is needed by staff, we’ll post a list on
our website so that any of our parents or community members who are so inclined
can either donate a gently used item they already have (e.g. lamp) or purchase
some of what’s needed. Partial donations are great! Questions? Gina Lederman
Candidate Forum
– Save the date: Monday, October 12, 7pm at PCFC. The Issaquah
PTSA Council is sponsoring this forum to meet the candidates for the school
board election being placed on the November 3 ballot.
